CHICAGO, IL (February 21, 2003) -- Wayne Stroman of Rii® Stroman in Conroe, Texas has been appointed to the National Association of Realtors® Resort Real Estate Committee by National President Catherine Whatley of Jacksonville, FL. The 2003 Committee leaders are Chairman B. J. Harris, GRI (VI) and Vice Chairman Tad Gilster, GRI (WI). Wayne Stroman joins forty other resort specialists selected from across the country to sit on this committee, new to NAR this year. The committee’s charge will be to monitor, review, and analyze issues and trends affecting resort and vacation markets and to recommend policies to NAR’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Members will also provide feedback on proposed legislation and regulatory rulemaking.
The Resort Real Estate Committee will conduct its first meeting in Washington, DC in May in conjunction with the NAR Midyear and Legislative Meetings. The National Association of Realtors® “The Voice for Real Estate," is America’s largest trade association, representing more than 880,000 members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
Mr. Stroman is serving from 2003-2005 as a director of the National Association of REALTORS® He also serves on the NAR Multiple Listing Service/Issues and Policy committee, the NAR National Convention Advisory Group (2003), and is the NAR Resort Real Estate Forum Chairman (2003). In addition, he is also on the Texas Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors (2000-2005). He is Vice Chairman of the REALTOR® Information Service (RIS) with the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) and Chairman of the HAR MLS Advisory Group.
